Parent Resources: Workshops and short courses for parents
Some of our short courses are specifically aimed at parents. Details of such courses will be posted here. Parents considering AVT are also welcome to join us on one of our open mornings to find out more about AVT.
Participants
Many of our courses are aimed at professionals such as teachers, speech and language therapists, teachers of the deaf and audiologists who work, or would like to work, in an auditory verbal way. Other courses are aimed at parents, friends, family and nannies - please check the individual course description for more information.
Key Aims
- Increase participants' knowledge and skills in Auditory Verbal Therapy.
- Discuss practical ideas and strategies in the areas of audition, speech and language, and play.
- Provide information regarding resources such as books, videos, websites and materials.
Accreditation
All courses can be accredited to: Auditory Verbal Certification (AVI)
Time and Location
All courses take place at Auditory VerbalUK, and run from 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs (registration from 0930 hrs) unless otherwise specified. We respectfully request that delegates do not arrive before 0930 hrs.
We are conveniently located between junctions 9 & 10 of the M40 and are a short taxi ride from Bicester North station, which has direct rail links to London Marylebone and Birmingham. Click here for directions
Course fee
The relevant fee includes all course materials and refreshments. Where specified, lunch is also included (please remember to notify us of any special dietary requirements)
Fees are payable on receipt of invoice. Where special rates, eg Early Bird, have been applied these will revert to the standard rate if the invoice is not paid by the due date.
Where fees have not been paid prior to a course starting, we reserve the right to refuse entry to the course.

Registration
To register for a course, please complete the online registration form. You will normally receive confirmation of your place within 48 hours of registering. Please refer to individual course information for details of place numbers and registration closing dates. Please do not assume that your place has been reserved until you receive email confirmation from us. If your booking has not been confirmed via email within 5 days then please telephone us on 01869 321492.
Cancellation policy
If we cancel: We reserve the right to cancel the course. In the unfortunate event of a cancellation by us, all course fees will be reimbursed.
If you cancel: Written cancellation must be given by you before the course registration closing date to obtain an automatic refund of course fees. We regret that fees cannot be refunded for any cancellations received after the course registration closing date; however in these circumstances you may transfer your course fees to a colleague for the booked event, providing the new delegate details to us prior to the event date.
Accomodation
There are hotels and guest houses in the immediate area to suit all budgets and that have been recommended to us by previous visitors. Details are available upon request.
