We are thrilled to announce that Auditory VerbalUK was awarded the Learning Award at last night’s Children and Young People Now Awards.

On Thursday 24 November 2016 our Chair of Trustees, Claire Campbell, and Fundraising and Communications Officer, Becky Crombleholme, attended the ceremony at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel.

The criteria for the Learning Award is ‘the initiative that has made the best contribution to improving educational achievement.’ The judges commented that “The work of Auditory Verbal UK is simply outstanding for its sheer impact.”

Chief Executive Anita Grover says:

“It is such an honour to receive this award, recognising the work that we are doing across the UK to create a sound future for deaf children.  We are very proud that 80% of children, who are on our early intervention programme for two years, achieve language appropriate for their age and most attend mainstream schools. We would like to pass our congratulations to all the other finalists who are all doing fantastic work to support children and young people in the UK."
