Exact timings on the day to be confirmed

We are excited to announce details of the next Auditory Verbal CEN on the 12th November 2020

Why attend?

Independent trainer and Auditory Verbal therapy mentor Elizabeth Tyszkiewicz will be presenting on 'Developing "pragmatics": - working out what people really mean.'

Elizabeth's expertise includes the development of thinking skills and theory of mind through spoken language in children who use hearing aids or cochlear implants, and the exploration of optimal ways to deliver training to learner therapists as they develop their practice.

The CEN will explore how children learn to get their message across in the ever changing context of communication with others.

Content includes:

  • Early foundations of communicative pragmatics
  • The development of increasingly sophisticated skills in conveying and understanding messages
  • Individual and cultural variations
  • Implications for therapy
  • References, resources and further reading

On the day

The morning session will be a presentation with video and discussion and the afternoon will give participants the opportunity to reflect on their own caseload.

Delegates are encouraged to bring a journal, resource or assessment tool they use to evaluate and/or support the pragmatic development of children on their caseload.

The event will be accredited for 4.5 CEUs from AG Bell.

If you would like to continue to receive information about the CEN, even if you can't make this one, please don't forget to sign up to the mailing list.
