JJ Hill is the mother of three young sons. She attended Bristol University from where she has an English degree and a MA in Classical Heritage. After graduating she spent time working in Rome both for Christie’s, the auctioneers, and teaching English. On her return to London she qualified as a lawyer and became a solicitor in a City firm. In 2001 JJ left the City and went to work for Tate where she was Head of Legal for nine years. JJ’s time at Tate gave her knowledge of a broad range of legal work and included experience of charity law.

JJ is a school governor of ‘Chelsea Open Air Nursery School and Children’s Centre’ where she has particular responsibility for the smooth running of the Children’s Centre. She is a member of the charitable trust that runs The Heatherley School of Fine Art.

She became a trustee of AVUK in February 2011.
