Congratulations Natalie, a former Auditory Verbal UK colleague who has just qualified as a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist in Australia.

Natalie explained her journey: "My first introduction to Auditory Verbal therapy was in my first job in the UK at a primary school that had a deaf provision. The staff and clinical team there really believed in using the child's hearing technology and strategies from Auditory Verbal therapy to support the children to learn to listen and speak. The school regularly engaged in professional development and collaboration with Auditory Verbal UK and I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to enroll on an AVUK course in 2014."

"With that, I was hooked! I was inspired by the knowledge, expertise and commitment that the AVUK team brought to the Auditory Verbal approach but also their commitment to training others in the field. I joined the next stage of the training course in 2015 and began my formal training to become a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist. What followed was many hours of study and practice and I was lucky enough to join the AVUK team in 2018. I loved working in such an inspiring and positive workplace where I felt I could continue to grow and flourish as a professional."

"However an opportunity to return to Australia beckoned at the end of 2019  and I moved to Adelaide, Australia, to join a fellow First-Voice Centre. I was determined to finally certify as a LSLS and continue to use and apply the knowledge I had gained during my time in the UK. I am now so proud to say I am a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist Certified Auditory-Verbal therapist, but I couldn't have gotten here without the incredible work of AVUK."
