Fundraising at your school can help deaf children get an equal start when they start school. It’s also an excellent opportunity to teach pupils about hearing loss and disability in a fun and fulfilling way. Below are some ways that you can get your school involved.

School Charity of the year

Nominating AVUK as your school’s Charity of the Year will mean that through occasional events throughout the year, more money is raised to teach deaf children to listen and speak. It’s also a great opportunity for raising awareness, as there’s more opportunity to inform parents on the work for AVUK. Representatives from AVUK can visit your school on one or several occasions to help explain the work that we do and support your school in raising funds.

A total of £1,145 was raised which will help us continue to teach deaf children to listen and speak.

Loud Shirt Day

Loud Shirt Day enables pupils at your school to join thousands of other school children across the country in getting loud to support deaf children. Loud Shirt Day is a non-uniform day each year in June where pupils dress in their loudest clothes and pay £1 to raise funds for AVUK. Find out more about Loud Shirt Day by clicking here.

Set up a fundraising page
