About us People Staff and Volunteers Catherine White, Clinical Advisor BSc (Hons) SLT & LSLS Cert AVT® Catherine qualified as a speech and language therapist at Manchester University in 2001. She joined the Manchester Paediatric and Adolescent Cochlear Implant Programmes for three years where she began her training towards AV certification. Catherine joined Auditory VerbalUK in 2004 as the first AV intern. She trained under Jacqueline Stokes Cert AVT LSLS ® and Elizabeth Tyszkiewicz Cert AVT LSLS® and certified as an auditory verbal therapist in 2005. Catherine is particularly interested in working with families of young babies and is passionate about improving services in order to raise outcomes for children with loss. She is a Clinical Adviser to Auditory VerbalUK and is involved in the development of in-house clinical guidelines and protocols, quality assurance, mentoring and training. She works closely with the teams across both centres to ensure continued provision of a high quality service. Catherine is also an adviser to the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and is currently involved in revising the Quality Standards for therapists working in the field of Hearing Impairment.
