Emma joined AVUK in August 2015, directly after qualifying from Birmingham City University with a first class degree in speech and language therapy. Emma had her first introduction to AVT during her final year placement at the Birmingham Cochlear Implant Centre, where she had the opportunity to engage with families at various stages of their auditory verbal journey. Emma was inspired by the success that many children were able to achieve in their spoken language development following this naturalistic, play-based approach. It was at this time she made the decision to start working towards her LSLS certification in order to support families of children with hearing impairment.
