Head Of Fundraising This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser who wants to play a key role at a senior level in an ambitious and growing charity. The successful applicant will need to have the drive and determination to develop the long-term fundraising strategy whilst nurturing and growing income from current and new supporters. They will join a highly-committed and passionate team of 30 staff, leading a team of five and will work closely with the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees. Post Head of Fundraising Location Hybrid between Central London/Bermondsey and remote working (minimum 1 day in the office per fortnight) Working Hours Full time (37.5 hrs/week). Part time considered (minimum 0.7FTE). Flexible working fully supported. Salary In region of £55,000 FTE, depending on experience. Group Pension Scheme (7% employer contribution) Holiday 27 days (pro rata) plus Bank Holidays and 1 privilege day Reporting To CEO Start Date ASAP Key responsibilities · As member of AVUK’s Senior Management team, responsible for the delivery of all fundraised income generation in line with AVUK’s annual objectives. · Leading the development and implementation of AVUK’s fundraising strategy in line with the organisation’s 10‑year strategy. · Managing, coaching and developing five members of staff – two Senior Trust and Foundations Managers, Senior Partnerships Manager, Senior Philanthropy Manager and Senior Development Manager. · Leading the Fundraising Advisory Board with Chair of Board to drive out new funding sources and deliver bi-annual Wonder of Sound event. · Lead an innovation in fundraising group to maximise new funding opportunities including gaming. · Driving forward plans to diversify and grow funding to maintain existing supporters and growth to meet strategic requirements. · Maintaining and growing support from existing and new trusts and foundations to meet short and long-term targets. · Maintaining and developing relationships with HNWI and support the Senior Partnerships Manager, Senior Philanthropy Manager and Senior Development Manager to grow and further diversify the AVUK supporter base. · Working with the Head of Communications & Engagement to maximise opportunities for engaging potential and current supporters and to grow the organisation’s national awareness campaign, Loud Shirt Day. · Preparing, analysing and reporting on the organisation’s voluntary income budget to, CEO, Director of Finance & Operations, SMT and Trustee Board. Member of the Trustee Board’s Finance & Risk Committee. · Undertake other duties that may from time to time be necessary and compatible with the nature of this post or as requested by the Chief Executive. Accuracy and attention to detail: Skilled in research, proofreading, report completion; able to keep accurate records and compile accurate and timely monitoring and evaluation reports; confident preparing income and expenditure budgets for projects. Organisational skills: Excellent time management skills; able to juggle a varied personal/team workload; able to master a brief quickly and to analyse/prioritise research information; self-motivated, flexible regarding hours. Professional Knowledge and Experience Essential · A minimum of five years’ experience of fundraising in the charity sector · Experience of instigating and building funding relationships with a mix or all of the following: trusts and foundations, major donors, legacies and corporate supporters · Demonstrable success in writing successful funding applications and reporting on grants from trusts, corporate partners, or government agencies · Proven experience of devising strategy, budgets and project plans and reporting/forecasting against them · Experience of managing, coaching and developing staff · Understanding of sector best practice and relevant fundraising/charity legislation · Interest in children/disability/hearing issues · Experience of using and developing fundraising database (we use Salesforce) Desirable · Professional fundraising qualification/Certificate in Fundraising Management · Experience of gaming fundraising · Experience of commissioning bids and tenders · Experience of individual giving, events, and sponsored events fundraising · Experience of developing online and offline communications to increase awareness and understanding of an organisation’s work The responsibilities outlined in this job pack are not exhaustive and will be reviewed, in consultation with the post-holder, from time-to-time and amended in light of the changing needs of the charity and experience and development of the post-holder.
