With many Teachers of the Deaf around the country undertaking training in Auditory Verbal practice, an article published by the British Association of Teachers of the Deaf (BATOD) looks at the experiences of two Teachers of the Deaf who wanted to build on their practice of working through audition with young deaf children and their families. The article includes a Q&A with the two ToDs who have recently undertaken the Foundation course – Working Through Audition – at Auditory Verbal UK. They talk about the course and how it has helped develop their working practice.

The two ToDs featured in the article are Anna Salo and Stuart Whyte. Anna is a qualified Teacher of the Deaf from the Sensory Support Service, Birmingham. Anna completed the Foundation course ‘live’ at AVUK’s London centre.

Stuart is a Teacher of the Deaf, Educational Audiologist and lecturer at the University of Southampton. He is also the Chair of the UK Children’s Radio Aid Working group and the immediate Past President of BATOD. Stuart completed his Foundation course online through AVUK’s online classroom.
