Creating a sound future for deaf children: Our impact in a snapshot

At Auditory Verbal UK, we’re proud to share the life-changing impact we’ve made together with families, professionals, and supporters over the past year. Here are a few of our highlights:

92 families with deaf babies and children were directly supported through AVUK’s Auditory Verbal therapy family programme between 1st August 2024 – 31st July 2025.

Over 120 professionals received training in the Auditory Verbal approach, helping increase awareness and expand access to this support across the UK and internationally.

An evaluation of AVUK’s foundation training in Auditory Verbal practice found that 98.5% of professionals agreed or strongly agreed that “This training has positively transformed my everyday practice.”

Over 60% of families on the programme received bursaries, helping them continue to access Auditory Verbal therapy and its benefits.

The outcomes

We’re helping families like Sanemi’s, who found hope and transformation through our programme. Born with profound hearing loss, Sanemi’s parents were determined to give her every opportunity:

“We really wanted our daughter to be able to speak and have all the opportunities that hearing children have.”

Through Auditory Verbal therapy, Sanemi flourished:

“Her vocabulary increased each week and soon she was a super confident speaker and still is!”

“She has no hesitation giving speeches, actively takes part in drama and is also a year-rep at her school.”

You can help us reach even more deaf babies and children. Your donation could be the turning point in a deaf child’s journey.
