Justina Shelley

I’ve learnt so much about early language development and it’s really changed my practice. I’ve realised how important it is that deaf children, especially those that are born to hearing families, have all the opportunities to develop language and communication so that they’re ready to start school alongside their peers.

Justina Shelley, Teacher of the Deaf and Certified Auditory Verbal therapist.

Bursary

As a charity we are often able to offer free or subsidised training online to professionals working with pre-school deaf children. Find out more here.

Continued Mentorship Programme (CMP)

This programme provides ongoing encouragement, guidance, resources and mentoring and provides a platform for professionals to connect with and support one another through regular online meetings and discussion boards.

Clinical Supervision

Where our training package may not be suitable, we are able to offer 1-2-1 mentoring sessions on an ad hoc basis to health and education professionals including Speech and Language Therapists, Teachers of the Deaf and Audiologists.

If you have any questions about our clinical supervision or CMP programme, please use our enquiry form or email [email protected].

In service training

We provide in-service training sessions for whole teams. Generally, these training sessions are provided online but we can also come to you to provide training in-person, depending on what best meets the needs of your team. In-service training is available for Speech & Language therapy services, Sensory Services (Teachers of the Deaf), Audiology services, schools, and nurseries. To find out more, use our enquiry form or email [email protected].

Accessibility

Accessibility of our services, including supporting language and communication preferences, is really important to us. If you have any access needs, please get in touch with us in advance so we can ensure the course is fully accessible to you, including using British Sign Language (BSL) and any adjustments you may need to participate comfortably. Email us at [email protected] or call 01869 325 000.
