Tamara Schmidt, Research Assistant Tamara joined the AVUK research team as research assistant in November 2025. She holds a doctorate in education/psycholinguistics, with a keen interest in how children learn to communicate in context (‘pragmatics’), and the role that adult speakers hold in supporting their child to thrive communicatively. Tamara is passionate about high-quality research and values the necessity of evidence-based research to inform changes for the betterment of children’s communication opportunities and, by extension, associated life chances.
