Gargis earring design is made for hearing aids and cochlear implants. Whilst Sannes design is made for BTE hearing aids.

Sanne only wears one BTE hearing aid, and so hers also inspired a separate asymmetrical earring design that can be worn by anyone - on an unaided ear, or, with its cuff connected to a hearing aid or cochlear implant using the Deafmetal Holster.

The winners each won their own designs as jewellery pieces, to proudly wear and cherish, as well as a €100 voucher to spend on Deafmetal’s website.

Aishwarya and AVUK graduate Alice were highly commended for their creativity in their designs. Aishwarya’s entry featured a design that was inspired by Art Deco and the Chrysler Building. Whilst Alice designed bejewelled jewellery for cochlear implants to make wearers feel more confident. Everyone who entered the competition received a voucher to spend on the Deafmetal website.

The winning jewellery designs are now available to purchase on the Deafmetal website, and 20% of the sales proceeds from these designs will go to Auditory Verbal UK (AVUK) to support more deaf babies and children across the UK.
