Dr Reenee Barton MRCPCH FRCPsych is the Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in the South West Specialist  Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) service for Deaf Children and Adolescents and Clinical Director for Somerset CAMHS. She has worked over 25 years in the NHS in paediatrics and psychiatry.

Monica Cherryson is a Deaf Family Support worker, a native British Sign Language user and is a founding member of the National Deaf CAMHS service in SW developed over a decade ago.

They are trained in the assessment and diagnosis of Autism using Deaf Adapted Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule

(ADOS) and Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI) tools, developed through a multi-centre trial Diagnostic Instruments for Autism in Deaf Children Study (DIADS) run by the National Deaf CAMHS nationally.

Somerset CAMHS services are rated CQC ‘Outstanding’.
