Auditory verbal therapy FAQs I work full time or have full-time caring responsibilities. Can a family member or someone else come in my place? Parents and carers are central to the success of the auditory verbal programme. The aim is to give you the techniques and strategies you need to develop your child’s listening and talking in the home and beyond. Where possible, we will try to find a way for parents/carers to attend each session. However, we recognise that this is not always possible. If this is the case, we can work with other key caregivers such as close family members and all sessions are recorded so that you can continue to learn new techniques and see how your child is progressing.
