On Monday 21 November 2016, Noel sat his Listening and Spoken Language Specialist exam with the AG Bell Academy and passed with flying colours.

Noel began his training in 2012, when he was a delegate on our Part 1 course Working Through Audition. He then started working at AVUK as an Auditory Verbal Therapy Intern where he began his training towards certification.

Before working at Auditory Verbal UK, Noel spent six years as a Highly Specialist Speech and Language therapist in the NHS.

Since joining AVUK in 2014, Noel has worked with children from across the UK; provided support in schools; and presented on auditory verbal practice at a number of conferences and events for health and education professionals. He also leads AVUK’s project with families in Malta.

Our Chief Executive, Anita Grover, says:

“We are delighted that Noel has qualified as a certified AVT after meeting all the requirements of the AG Bell Academy. We would like to thank the October Club for making it possible for Noel to train with us and to be part of our growing team working to create a sound future for deaf children”.

Noel Kenely says:

“Passing the AG Bell exam is the final hurdle after many years of training. I am over the moon to now be part of the small community of certified auditory verbal therapists in the UK all of whom share the same vision of giving every deaf child in the UK an opportunity to learn how to listen and speak”.
